Small-scale population forecast for the Main-Kinzig district (2021)
The Main-Kinzig district is the most populous district in the state of Hesse. It has a very heterogeneous settlement structure. While the densely populated south-western part belongs to the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main conurbation, the eastern part of the district is mainly rural. For the 29 towns and municipalities, S&W forecast the population development up to the year 2040 and applied the population disaggregation model for the spatial disaggregation of the forecast population structure data to the local districts.
