11/2019 On 12 November 2019, during the Geographical Week of the Charles University in Prague, Klaus Spiekermann gave two presentations about accessibility research at different spatial levels and advised representatives of the Geographical Institute on the development of an accressibilty model to assess the impacts of a potential high-speed rail network in the Czech Republic.
 
10/2019 S&W was commissioned by the region of Ostwürttemberg to prepare an expertise about the functional structure of the transport networks following the central-place concept of the Guidelines for Integrated Network Design (RIN).

05/2018 The MORO Practice Report Spatial Monitoring Germany and Bordering Regions prepared by S&W presents the results of the project of that name: cross-border spatial structures and developments in Germany with neighbouring countries and their regions. The publication called the Small Spatial Development Report+ by the BBSR can be be obtained in printed or digital form in German language and, in shorttened versions, also in Dutch, Czech, Danish, French and Polish translations from the BBSR.

Björn Schwarze and Klaus Spiekermann showed in their presentation the conception and first recommendations for the discussed questions.

05/2016 Together with three other European research institutions S&W was awarded the two-year ESPON project Possible European Territorial Futures. In the project the spatial impacts of different developments in the fields of circular economy, renewable energy and land markets are to be investigated in scenarios.
 
05/2016 In the ESPON project Modelling "Less Efficient Regulation" S&W combined the scenarios of the spatial development of Europe they had developed in the ESPON project ET2050 with assumptions about the efficiency of the implenmtation of EU subsidy policies.
